Emergency Alert 10-02-2026: The City of New Richland will be hosting a Disaster Assistance Center on the following dates and times: Monday October 5, 1-7pm Tuesday, October 6, 1-7pm Saturday October 10, 10-1pm (if needed) This Disaster Assistance Center will be used to connect residents affected by the flood to resources to aid in their recovery. State and volunteer agencies will be available.

City Compost Dump

The City of New Richland operates a compost dump that is funded by the property taxes of parcels within city limits.

This benefit is not currently open to individuals wishing to dump yard waste not from parcels within city limits.

Individuals caught dumping illegally will be fined in accordance with Appendix D of the Code of Ordinances.

Please help keep the compost site open! Report Illegal dumping to City Hall (507)465-3514.

  • Natural Vegetation Only

Not Allowed

  • Trash
  • Furniture/Electronics
  • Cement
  • Bags/Other Plastic Containers/Tarps
  • Lumber
  • Branches/Tree Limbs/Stumps over 2 feet in diameter and/or longer than 2 feet
